First Tithing

Kenidi paid her very first tithing this past Sunday, I decided as part of school on friday that we would count up all her money. We separated all the pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills. I had her counting by 5's 10's and 20's by the end of it. She had a total of Fifty five dollars, I asked her if she thought it would be a good idea to keep all of that money to herself, and she answered me with a big "NO"! She was so excited when she handed her little envelope to the Bishop. It's good for her to learn at a young age that the money we earn is partly heavenly fathers. It was quite amazing because latter that same day, we had a surprise visit from brother and sister Conrady ( A nice couple in our ward) . They came into our home with three large boxes of food! They had brought us pancake mix, maple syrup, Breakfast Cereal, Gold Fish, Ground beef, Two gallons of milk, Four loaves of bread, Peanut butter & Jelly, Cheese, Eggs, Minute Rice, Hot Dogs, Corn dogs, Macaroni, Butter & Lunch meat!! I was so thankful I couldn't help but cry, I am so thankful for our ward It truly is an extension of our family. It was a great opportunity to show kenidi the blessings of paying tithing, I explained to her however that this sort of thing doesn't always happen, just so she doesn't have expectations of it happening again.

  1. I like your new fall design. What a neat story about tithing and the blessings it brings when we are in need but too proud to ask for help. The Lord knows, and he sends his helpers at just the right moment.

  3. Express to her that the Lord is always faithful, my income has almost tripled from the time I started tithing, and the numerous things the Lord had provided me always at the right times has always amazed me. He is great and good! The blessing are always abundant in a faithful walk with the Lord.
