Fourth of July weekend

Our fourth of July weekend was quite eventful!! We were able to have daddy for a FOUR DAY weekend! We anxiously waited in the car for him to be released. After we picked him up we drove to the Virginia Beach Aquarium. It was a lot of fun! They had Different kinds of Crabs and a Sting Ray tank, we saw some pretty huge sea turtles and best of all was the Sharks!! The sting ray tank was pretty cool...Kenidi was not all that thrilled about touching them but Kaden, Adam, and I were all over the idea, the only thing I didn't like was smelling like a fish after having my hand in the water. The Aquarium had two buildings that were connected by a nature trail which was very wooded, it was a beautiful walk to the other side. We had so much fun that we ended up staying till they closed.

On Saturday we decided to go to the Yorktown beach, it is only 13 miles from where we live so we wanted to check it out. I kinda like it better than Virginia beach. It is much less crowded and way closer. The kids had a lot of fun digging a big pit with daddy. Britynn even got her feet in the water. Poor Kaden was so tired, he had skipped his nap almost everyday that week. He looked so sleepy in the pictures of him at the beach, the sun was so bright that he could hardly keep his eyes open.

Sunday we invited a nice couple from our ward over for dinner. We didn't go to a firework show because they don't allow fireworks in Newport News so instead we made our own firework show. We didn't go all out though, I specifically told Adam that we could only spend 15$ on fireworks. Poor Adam he loves fireworks and I know he would have spent way more if it wasn't for me, I knew that we just couldn't justify spending a lot of money though. I was so bummed that none of the pictures turned out. We don't have a camera (since Kaden broke it) so we used our camcorder but the camera on the camcorder doesn't have a flash, so all of the pics are blurred. It takes great pics during the day though. We had so much fun with daddy that weekend and were sad to take him back on Monday.

Britynn spent most of the time at the beach sleeping in
the stroller. This is the picture I took of just after she woke up.

We had to make our own fun since there weren't any waves

Virginia Beach

Britynn was only one week old when we took her to Virginia Beach. We had so much fun while we were there. It was hard to convince Adam to go since he hates the sand and the mess it brings into the car, but I finally got him to go. It was such a beautiful day the weather was perfect and breezy.

Baby Britynn

Nevermind these pictures, I really dont like
pictures just after giving birth.

Poor Adam had to sleep on the chair he didn't
have a pillow so instead he used his ACU uniform.

Kenidi was sick when we first brought Britynn home, so it was over a week before we let Kenidi hold her new baby sister. Kenidi was so excited when it was finally okay told hold her.

We are still alive

It has been over two months since I posted on my blog. I have a lot of catching up to do. The last time I posted we were living in Arizona. There was some concern that I might not have been able to fly since I was so close to my due date, but I didn't waste any time booking the flights once Dr. Bullero finally gave me the okay to fly. The day before we left my sweet sister in Law(Andrea) and my sister Shanna decided to throw me a baby shower... well actually a diaper shower to be exact. It was so nice to get together with my old friends from high school :-) The next morning on the 16Th of April the kids and I flew as far east as you can go. We had a connecting flight in Atlanta Georgia and finally arrived in Newport News, Virginia around 10pm that night. We picked up our rental car and then we drove to the hotel that I had reserved, this is where we ended up staying for the next week. It was quite a challenge getting the kids adjusted to the 3 hour time change, but within a few weeks they were on track. We finally got to see Adam on Sunday April 18Th. The kids were so excited to see Daddy, they were a little shy at first...I think because it had been so long since they last saw him and also because of the fact that he looked so different without any hair. We could only see Adam on the weekends and we always had to stay in his company area, which meant that we had to stay in the car parked in the parking lot. We were still very happy that we got to see him. After four weeks of AIT he got what is called green pass - which is basically a pass that allows you to go on and off base on the weekends. We look forward to every weekend that we get to take daddy home with us. We moved into our apartment on the 23rd of April, We didn't have all of our belongings since all of our stuff was still in storage, so the kids and I camped out with the few things that we had packed in our suitcases. All of our belongings finally arrived on the 17Th of May. I didn't waste any time unpacking, I was only a week away from my due date and couldn't stomach the thought of unpacking after the baby was born. I really really wanted to have everything in order before we welcomed our new baby into the world. My plan however didn't work out... I ended up going into labor five days early. The contractions started on the 19th at 9pm. They were about 10 minutes apart and they stayed that way for about 13 hours. At this point Adam was still living on base and so I decided to call a sister from the ward to see if she could help. The relief society president ( Sis Napier) came over right away and sat with me while we counted the contractions. The contractions were staying the same so I decided to drive myself to the hospital to see what they could do. After almost 2 hours they decided to let me go since my labor was not progressing and I was still only dilated to a 1. They did however give me 10 mil of Ambien so that I could get some much needed rest. Sis morewitz and sis Napier took the kids over to Sis Diqisto's house to play while I got some rest. I woke up about two hours later with intense bearing down pains and at this point the contractions were almost every minute!! I called sis Morewitz to take me to the hospital but didnt realize that she lived 10 minutes away, I waited and waited and began to get scared thinking that I would deliver this baby on my own!!! She finally arrived and helped me get down the three flights of stairs from our apartment. I dont know what I would have done without her! We were at the Hospital within 6 minutes and they wheeled me right in. I kept yelling out the the doctors and nurses that I needed to push, but all they could say was no no not yet! I finally ended up delivering little Britynn on May 20th at 12:24 She was 8lbs 9oz and 21 inches, she had a ton of beautiful dark brown hair. I still cant believe that we made it to the hospital in time, I was very sad however because Adam didnt get to make it for the delivery, he showed up 2 minutes late. I shouldn't complain though, I have so much to be thankful for! The most important thing is that we had a happy and healthy baby and we were recovering just fine. I was able to go home the next day, I was very happy that they let me go because I was getting really lonely there at the hospital by myself.
